Sea Eagle Inflatable Rafts

By Bob Nackskyski

If what you seek is an inflatable boat with both durability and versatility, then theres a good chance that you should have a look at Sea Eagles line of inflatables. These rafts can be used for three different things which include rafting, lake fishing, and fly fishing. These can also be used if youre just feeling lazy and want to float down a river either alone or with a group of people. Generally this only means two or three other people, and there are many different types of boats available. There are a few boats listed below, but this does not mean by any stretch of the imagination that this is all there is.

The first on the list is the Sea Eagle 6 (SE6). This little beauty is designed to handle 650 pounds. It can comfortable for two people with not much gear so in reality it was designed for one person with not a lot of gear to haul. It is able to use a motor up to 2hp with using the motor mount option. This boat inflatable is extremely light weighing at only 25 pounds.

The Sea Eagle 8 (SE8) is the most popular of the inflatable rafts that are offered. This boat inflatable is designed for a single person, highly maneuverable, rugged and durable. This makes for an excellent raft for both fishing and floating down the river, however this inflatable raft is not to be confused with the Sea Eagle (r)8.

The Sea Eagle (r)8 basic start up package consists of AB253 oars, Sea Eagle (r) raft, SED rowing seat, foot pump, FHS fisherman high seat, repair kit, and the instructions. The raft itself has a 2-compartment floor that is inflatable, the main chamber then the safety chamber over that. This boat inflatable is equipped with four molded oarlocks, a carry handle on the bow, and the all around grab line. It has the capacity to hold three adults or about 950 pounds. When it is deflated it measures 24x21x8. This inflatable raft is able to handle a 3 hp gas engine, when inflated the exterior size measures 9'7" x 4'8" while the interior measures 6'2"x 2'4".The tube measures 15" in diameter and weighs 32 pounds (hull alone) or 60 pounds with the floorboards and the motor mount.

Next of course there is the Sea Eagle 9 raft. It is like the r(8) in that it is everyone's favorite for river floating or even fly fishing, but it is very different in that it's rated for Class III whitewater rafting. The biggest difference between this boat and other boats of it's type is that it is capable of holding up to 1200 lbs. This means that it can carry up to five adults, which is a considerable improvement over many other inflatable rafts. The boat itself is composed of Polykrylar, and the time to pump is 10 to 15 minutes with a manual pump This boat can also be equipped with a motor of up to four horsepower.

There are number of different accessories that you can purchase for this raft which include a sun canopy, windshield, floor boards, and a number of other things. What is added on is entirely up to you.

The next thing that you will want to look at is what is known as the Sea Eagle Sailcat, which measure approximately fourteen feet. The package has the boat, oars, a storage bag made of nylon, two nice comfortable cushions, benches, and the sailing rig. The rig has the mast, mast step, lantern rig, and the tiller/rudder system. The most interesting part about this system is that the sail is able to fold. Deflated the entire thing is about 60"x14"x12", and inflated it is around 9'6"x4". The entire thing weighs about ninety seven pounds and can stand up to twenty five mile per hour winds.

If an inflatable boat is what you seek, then you may feel free to stop seeking, because the sea eagle as everything that you could possibly want. Who Has the Hottest Seadoo PWC Cover

By John A Moore

Seadoo PWC covers are almost never discussed amongst the most serious racers. But that is not to say they aren't important amongst the most serious racers. Each serious athlete seems to think their seadoo pwc cover is an extension of the machine which is an extension of them. A sleek cover means they are a sleek rider. However, no one admits to thinking this way. Most riders are keen to get on the water to demonstrate their skills but none would show up with a shabby or worn out seadoo cover. Earlier this year I sent out an email to competitors telling them I was looking for content for my blog on seadoo covers. As a lark, one of the competitors suggested having a seadoo cover beauty pageant after Saturday's races. The rest is history.

I know for a fact that a lot of money is spent annually on seadoo covers. Seadoo covers make the first statement about the machine and the athlete. A sleek cover says that the rider takes this sport seriously. It says "I keep my machine and body in good shape and this race is important to me. Everybody knows this but it is rarely said. Riders will tell you that they prefer to make their statements on the water. While denying their interest in seadoo pwc covers, some riders show up with new covers year after year.

When I asked around Saturday morning, no one would admit to wanting to enter the contest. I did not mention that I would be blogging about it as I thought that might deter people even further. After all, the whole idea was a bit novel and inconsistent with the macho sport of personal watercraft racing.

Needless to say, no one pre-registered for the cover contest. However, as dusk rolled around and everyone was chatting with the other competitors and their crew the idea of a cover contest seemed to be a fun idea. Some of the guys were saying that they wouldn't enter the contest but if they did their new custom designed seadoo covers would undoubtedly win. As the evening wore on the claims became more insistent even amongst crew. It was decided that mechanics or even friends or relatives could enter the seadoo covers even if the athletes were not inclined to.

Once family was permitted to enter, we got 4 or 5 contestants immediately. There was a clear sentimental favorite as it was presented by a dancing 5 year old. The custom details were vines and roses as the watercraft was based out of Roses Marina. The cover itself was a light green water resistant material with thick darker green stitching.

The seadoo cover contest was a lot of fun. I can see it being repeated at this competition year after year. Some of the competitors were taking about swapping covers with some of the international competitors at bigger events. This tournament has always been one of my favorites. As always, it was a lot of quality racing but this year it had the added twist of featuring custom designed seadoo pwc covers.

Who Has the Hottest Seadoo PWC Cover

After all, the whole idea was a bit novel and inconsistent with the macho sport of personal watercraft racing.

After the races were over and the riders were relaxing I went to find the organizer to discuss how we might get people to sign up for the cover contest. The competitors were standing around in small groups getting reacquainted and discussing the waves. I overheard some small talk about the cover contest. I overheard some of the winners telling those less successful that maybe they had a chance in the cover beauty contest. In response, some riders were telling other riders that they had no hope in the cover contest. As the sun began to set, claims of having the coolest cover became more insistent. All of a sudden guys were rushing to their machines to dry them off and get them covered.

In the end, a guy from Wasaga Beach won the contest. He had a custom detailed cover with embroidered flames on each side. On the nose he had a graffiti style logo that combined the name of his machine with his own last name. The cover itself was a mid-blue with thick black stitching. Admittedly, it was a very nice cover and it was definitely top three in my opinion.

The seadoo cover beauty contest was a blast. People were beginning to talk about the wacky additions they might make to the covers for next year's contest. I think this will be a repeat event at this tournament year after year. This tournament has always been one of my favorite tournament given it's proximity to my home marina. With the addition of the quirky yet popular seadoo pwc cover contest it is now my favorite event of the racing season.

Chuck Patterson Wins The First Annual Rainbow Sandals Battle Of The Paddle

By Mike Freedman

I couldn't sleep the night before the biggest stand up paddle event to date because all I could think of was how amazing this would be!

Pretty decent waves today with more expected for tomorrow. The event organizer Barrett Tester and Pat Huber have the beach looking like a major rock band is going to have their concert there. Slater Trout is all amped up and definitely going to give the heavy hitters a hard time.

Every one seems so focused checking each others gear out. Chuck Patterson is exceptionally focused because this is his home town, he either needs to go big or deal with the disappointment of facing them the next day. Meanwhile Ekolu Kalam shows up with his board inside of his Hummer.

Patterson is super-fit"has lost at least ten pounds. And hes gobbled up all the tech advantages he knows about, from applying a super slippery speed sheen called Extreme Cream on the bottom of his spankin new Hobie carbon fiber race board, to using the new Monster Paint traction spray on his deck and paddle shaft.

The lighter weight racers showing up like Odie and Slater began to worry Chuck. In this type of event speed is key. Board size is kept within a minimum to equalize the competition so the lighter guys will have the speed advantage.

Chuck need some crazy wave conditions to make it a fare fight and he ended up getting his wish. He earned every penny of his prize money!

The night before the big race all the competitors where practicing well into the night and psyching themselves up. Chuck did his usual, take the dog for a stroll and dream about being number one. This came true the next day.

Sleeping Bag Blues

By Dale Gatehouse

When it's time to buy your next sleeping bag, please consider the temperature ranges available before you purchase. What will the temperature be like where you are going? Does it get cold at night, and if so, how cold? I strongly recommend getting a sleeping bag that can handle temperatures 20 degrees below the forecast weather.

Two years ago, my husband and I decided to get a bigger boat (a common problem with boaters) and we found one in late October that was perfect. It was kept at a marina a few hours West of where we live, so we decided to bring it home by driving it down river, more cost effective than having it trailered. However, the boat had no heater.

So, how to keep warm? I did not feel like bringing sheets and blankets, so warm sleeping bags seemed logical. Knowing it might get chilly at night, I checked a few weather sites and determined 45ish would be the low. So, on-line I went to find SO much information and so many decisions to make, it all became a blur.

Overloaded with information, I ended up choosing a pretty blue sleeping bag which matched the color of our new boat. It was made by Mountain Hardwear, was good to 50F and was in my price range. Too bad I didn't look around a little more, I would have noticed other sleeping bags in the same price range which were good to lower temperatures.

Needless to say, that night was c o l d !! We picked up the boat on a balmy 65 morning, and drove all day, ending up in the 1000 Islands near Brockville, Ontario that night. We should have picked up a clue that it was going to be cold when we found that all the docks were removed from the islands, but we just scoffed at the scared, cold-fearing tourists and enjoyed a late dinner all alone on an island.

Knowing we had an early start the next day, we quickly made up our beds in the cabin and turned in by 10:00 p.m. Sometime after midnight, our golden retriever Kramer started growling so I got up to check on him. Holy crap, it was cold! I brought our dog into the cabin where he settled happily on the couch.

Unfortunately for me, the bed was too small for 3, so I couldn't even enjoy the warmth of my dog next to me. I quickly dove back into my sleeping bag, but it was too late. My feet were already numb and they didn't seem to warm up all night.

The next morning we heard on our radio that temperatures had dropped to 25 overnight! What a surprise, the weathermen got it wrong. So please take my advice and learn from my mistakes - when deciding on which sleeping bag to buy, get one that works to at least 10 degrees lower than you think you may need. You'll be happy you did!

Sleeping Bag Blues

By Dale Gatehouse

Is it time to buy a new sleeping bag? If so, I strongly recommend that you take into account the temperature ranges most sleeping bags have available and buy accordingly. Check a few weather forecasts of where you are going to get an idea of what to expect, then buy a sleeping bag that works to 20 degrees below that.

A couple of years ago, I was preparing for a 2 day boat trip to the 1000 Islands. After shopping around all Summer, my husband and I found a boat in late October which suited our needs. Too bad I didn't look around a little more, I would have noticed other sleeping bags in the same price range which were good to lower temperatures.

But no, I went with color and completely regretted the decision that night. Arriving at the marina to pick up our boat in the early morning, the temperature was in the mid 60s and we enjoyed a lovely day cruise down river. We ended up on one of our favorite islands near Brockville, Ontario and had a nice meal just as the sun was setting.

Darkness came early and we knew we'd have an early start, so after a quick tour of the island to let our dog do his business, we made our beds in the aft cabin and were asleep by 10:00 p.m. A few hours after midnight, our dog woke me up and when my feet touched the floor, it felt like there was ice in the cabin!

Unfortunately for me, the bed was too small for 3, so I couldn't even enjoy the warmth of my dog next to me. I quickly dove back into my sleeping bag, but it was too late. My feet were already numb and they didn't seem to warm up all night.

Boat Evaluation Guidelines for Newbies

By John Howard

Establishing the monetary value for a boat is one of the most important and sometimes the most difficult aspects of dealing with pleasure boats, from the perspective of the seller but of course also for other parties such as buyers, brokers, insurers and marine surveyors

For the seller, pricing the boat well will make the difference between walking away with the right amount of funds to but an even bigger and more performing watercraft, or finding himself undersold and unable to retrieve its investment in full.

At first glance buyers may think that the subject is less crucial for them as there is a lot of choice of similar boats with clear prices, but make no mistake - don't become complacent and forget that not getting the best deal may mean losing tens of thousands of dollars.

This is, unfortunately, harder than it seems. Boat prices fluctuate a lot due to a series of sometimes obscure circumstances, such as the place you are in and the season of the year, and these are all things you need to be aware of. Otherwise you may strike what seems a great deal, but in hindsight you may then notice that the transaction left you worse off by thousands or tens of thousands of dollars.

Which is why boat evaluation cannot just be an afterthought or a given, but must be considered with care. First of all, the prospective buyer or seller needs to decide whether to go solo, or whether to hire a boat evaluation pro. Marine brokers can help to sort out the issue for you.

On the other hand, why should you hire a broker and spend money and time waiting for other peoples judgments to affect you? There is plenty of information available on industry publications and on websites, so if you have the option of doing the boat evaluation yourself, then why not do it?

Casting your net wide when seeking information is crucial when doing your own boat evaluation. Try to read a lot about the subject, determine the kind of vessel that you are concerned with, and try to establish possible minimum and maximum asking process.

For this, trade magazine classifieds (whether online or offline) are a fantastic place to start. Systematically collecting and comparing ads for similar boat classes over time will give you a very good idea of offer and demand, and therefore of current price levels.

Marine get-togethers such as boating festivals are also a great source. At your local marina, you could just meet the right experienced seaman who is willing to chat about boat values with you, giving you the insights you may have missed.

Another good place to spend some time at are boat and yacht shows, even if you are ultimately buying or selling second hand. Finding out by yourself what kind of features and accessories are in fashion helps in determining what is currently in demand and what isn't and this applies to used boats too.

Carp Fishing Bait Secrets Of Getting More Big Fish Bites!

By Tim Richardson

It will probably come as a surprise to many fishermen that fish alternate frequently between one feeding mode and another, in order to best profit from various food opportunities available in the aquatic environment even within a short time period and this can change many times even over an hour or 24 hour period. The way fish feed is key to how best to tempt them in order to get a hook in their mouth and catch them, but few anglers actually give this immensely important subject the attention it demands. But the good news is that you can induce many fish feeding modes simply and easily in order to catch more fish purely by exploiting what comes naturally to them...

If you ever fished a match using tiny hooks for bloodworm or jokers as bait, you will know how powerful these fish catching baits are. One of the best feeding triggers for carp and one of the most abundant amino acids found in mature carp tissues is alanine which also happens to be found in abundance in blood worms and jokers. Fish instinctively feed in the most energy efficient way depending on the food supply available and how and where it is located and how spread out or dense or large or small the food items are.

Many carp anglers do not realise carp can feed on items as small as algae and tiny zooplankton crustaceans, even under a millimetre in size and derive extremely significant nutrition from such small organisms. These are very rich foods and are often exploited when fluctuations of populations are especially favourable and in spring and summer help in the time leading up to and after spawning. The success of fine particulate feeds like fine fish meal and bread crumb ground baits in many ways echo this mode of feeding which in this case can occur at any level in the water or sediment.

This kind of feeding or similar can be used to further explore the potential of your hook baits and free baits as food items even before your bait is actually touched by a fish. You might have seen a fish suddenly dart towards a bait after having started gulping in water first to taste your bait more efficiently using taste buds in the pharyngeal cavity in the gill area. Fish also use gulping in a snapping motion in a mobile pump feeding) or static position to filter feed and particulate feed and carp and bream do this much of the time in turbid lakes; lazy of what!

Carp actually derive very significant nutrition by filter feeding as this is the primary mode of feeding used especially in turbid lakes. It is a great advantage to use this mode to good effect, and I have had outstanding success for bigger carp fishing over ground bait and forms of more soluble boilies and pellets forms over deep silt in smaller turbid lakes; where catching filter feeding carp can be very difficult with more conventional approaches and large baits and pellets etc. This method of feeding exploitation can drive fish into a feeding frenzy even though no solid bait has actually been consumed yet!

Carp, barbel and tench and even trout and bass feed to varying degrees using filter feeding and they use branchial sieves to do so. These are adjustable in order to catch the most profitable nutritious particles sizes available, depending on concentration and abundance. These are also adjusted to catch batches of particles or individual large ones. In feeding terms, carp are categorised as suction feeders and slow ones at that, but that hides the fact that they can suck up items at a tremendously powerful velocity when required which has great rig implications especially when a fish is filter feeding on food at a long distance from the fish's head where long rigs and critically balanced baits have great benefits!

The chemical senses of carp are often mentioned in relation to bait, but the role of the carp lateral line is far less mentioned. The electrical sensitivity of this area in food detection is often severely over-looked by anglers seeking to improve their baits and it is so finely tuned it can detect the tiny movements of zooplankton. As carp are primarily filter feeders using slower suction motions compared to other fish, it makes sense to exploit this by using fine ground baits and smaller hook baits too!

Although filter feeding modes in carp reflect their most dominant small sized natural foods you can overcome their preoccupation with these to get them to feed on your fishing baits by also using fine particulate feeds and smaller baits at least to begin with in your ground baits, method mixes, stick mixes etc. Many carp in pressured fisheries regard eating 21 millimetre pellets nad boilies as natural as they literally depend on them for essential dietary requirements, but it does not mean using hook baits of this size make it easier to catch warier fish. The finding is that smaller baits do often fool carp better than large baits and this is not merely due to the fact that proportionately far greater numbers of anglers use baits over 1 centimetre in size...

If you look at the success of captures on small pieces of baits fished over crumbs of baits or fine particulate ground baits saturated with nutritional liquid food additives with added blood worms, maggots, sweetcorn and hemp seeds etc, you can see distinct advantages because it taps into more of the fishes ranges of natural modes of feeding. It is no surprise that fishing tiny hook baits makes sense for big fish even those with huge mouths, when their most efficient and predominant modes of feeding involve the gulping, filter feeding and particulate feeding modes, as opposed to chasing down prey fish for example (although carp do this too.) When you match up the primary feeding modes of your target fish at that time of season to the ground baits, rigs and hook bait characteristics and sizes you choose using a bit more expert knowledge, and your fishing success can be truly multiplied for life...

How To Make Carp Fishing Baits And Save Money With Homemade Bait

By Tim Richardson

Fishing bait from fishing shops can really make going carp fishing an expensive passion! Many anglers are now so conditioned to using readymade baits that they have never seriously considered the huge advantages of making very unique baits for themselves, but they will catch as many if not higher numbers of fish than commercial baits. The fact that homemade bait will cost you a fraction of the cost of readymade baits and over the days and weeks shocking savings can be achieved with no less fish (in fact quite the opposite!)

Every time I have used a homemade bait that is different to the popular baits on a water, big fish have appeared and this is one of those definite points about carp which you can exploit using homemade baits. Fish learn by association and will find your new baits much harder to resist than popular readymades that already have been exploited. This difference is often the factor that decides if you get a run of big fish, or just average results, or series of memorable personal best fish sessions or lots of blanks!

Of course it takes the usual fishing skills and application in order to catch any fish especially those bigger ones which are far less easily caught, but your unique bait is a distinct factor in producing for you consistent big fish catches. One of the most incredible highs is to land new personal best fish on bait you have made from your own recipe and knowing you are the one angler who is ever going to exploit your secret bait. You never have to compete with hundreds of other fishermen on the same bait as you!

The funny thing is, most carp anglers never stop to think and see that by using readymade baits they could be cutting their chances by well over half. This is because at any point in time you will be fishing against an unknown number of other anglers who may all be using the bait you are. Your readymade bait has no more chance of catching fish than the next guys. But if you know how to adapt them or make your own, you are putting your baits catching potential in a different league to Mr Average! With a different bait your chances can really skyrocket and it pays you back enormously many times over repeatedly for making minor effort with your bait!

Popular baits in many ways do have a shelf life in terms of longevity of effectiveness. Top bait manufacturers will tell you that even in a stock pond which has never been fished, when a new bait has been fished intensively by a number of anglers successfully, their results can slow right up even literally to the point of no more fish being caught on that bait. (This is no exaggeration, for example Gary Bayes of the international bait company Nashbaits told me of his experience of this!) Many baits exploit highly concentrated flavors in order to affect bait pH to stimulate fish. Others use the biological nutritional value approach and call their baits food baits for this reason.

You might have read about making homemade baits and had the impression it has to be difficult and time consuming despite being more economical by far than using commercial baits. However it is in reality so easy to make homemade baits that catch fish over forty pounds that a 12 year old can do it and that is the real truth. There is no obligation for you to make baits anything like resembling commercial baits, all smooth, round barrel shapes perfectly formed and so on. In fact to copy them would lose you many hidden advantages that are not lost making very different baits! You do not even have to roll baits into balls at all or even boil them to produce boilies and there are very easy ways to avoid any time consuming parts in making baits.

You do not have to make individual baits in round shapes. Why not roll out a bait paste made of eggs, liquid additives and dry powders made into a dough and simply cut this into little odd shaped pieces? You could pop these into a pan of boiling water for about a minute or so to make boilies.

Making baits is very easy. You merely need a large container to mix your ingredients in and a knife or spoon to mix the materials to form a practical bait dough. First just get a handful of eggs and a teaspoonful of cake flavor and mix together well, then add your dry powders, etc a bit a time until a firm dough is reached.

Now you can use the dough as fresh bait or opt to label some sealed plastic bags and store it in the fridge for a few days or to freeze it in advance of going fishing. You most likely will forget what you made your baits out of so it is best to write this somewhere so you can remake your winning baits repeatedly! It is possible to get a ball of dough weighing about a kilogram from a 6 egg mixture; this will obviously vary depending upon the various ingredients you choose to include and their levels. Some ingredients will hold water better than others while some might dissolve readily in water, and the practical advantages of each kind are easy to exploit depending if you want hard baits which break down slowly or ones which dissolve and spread their attraction very quickly.

Considering you can easily make very economical baits even with better food nutrition value than just carbohydrate baits like the one described, it is still shocking to work out just how much money you can save. You can produce very effective big fish baits for 2 or 3 pounds or about 6 dollars per kilogram compared to shop prices of 5 or 6 times this cost. The total cost of 10 kilograms of readymade baits can be 80 to 120 pounds, while your homemade bait can cost you just 20 or 30 pounds, saving you 60 to 100 pounds for every 10 kilograms of readymade bait!

The best advantage of all is you can make your baits as different to normal as you like. Remember, being different is what really counts. Most frequently it is the most different and alternative homemade baits which tempt the very biggest and wariest of fish. You can start off with the simple bait here, but you might like to find out more if you really want to get cracking and hit the big-time!

Fishing Baits Secrets To Treble Your Carp And Catfish Catches!

By Tim Richardson

It might sound strange to imagine a fish as a tongue, but that is what they are in effect in water; and exploiting this fact is well proven to catch you a shocking amount of fish! Too many anglers think like anglers instead of seeing and sensing things from a fish perspective and this often is the difference between an average angler and a big-name one! It's the substances leaching and dissolving into water from your baits that seriously impact on specialised taste and smell cells, (plus other senses) all over the external and internal surfaces of fish and realising that this is similar to taste buds on your tongue is something you can hugely exploit with bait to totally transform your catches...

Carp and catfish often live in the same waters and are targeted by anglers fishing in similar ways for each so I'll place these together. A good reason to use catfish and carp together as examples of tongues that swim is the sheer number of physical similarities in substance detection and also their shared quite similar essential nutritional needs that often means the same bait design can catch both; and very big ones too! Many anglers know little about the specifically adapted cells in and outside of fish that enable them to detect substances in water on a chemical level even down to a few parts in a million or even billion, and this is one of the most powerful aspects of fish we can exploit with our baits to make them far easier to catch!

Humans tasting a bait substance is rather an exercise in personal taste and opinion as opposed to a scientific method of selection, as our senses have been severely dulled over the course of evolution and recent cultural revolutions such as that of farming; but some indigenous hunter tribes eyesight is perfect at 20 / 25! Another point is that specially evolved cells called receptor cells are found in various concentrations on the external and interior of fish. These have many various special adaptations.

Carp find many potential food substances including your baits by using cells adapted for the purpose which are extremely sensitive to essential substances especially, like various combinations of amino acids. The cells that detect very many substances are located externally in the facial skin, areas of the head and flanks, the lips, fins, in the nose, the barbels, in the mouth, throat and other lesser known significant areas too! The so-called receptor cells are very sensitive and so can detect oils in water not supposedly water soluble, however, even these are to a small degree and using lecithins with oils obviously improves their detectability and attraction!

Apart from cells involved in chemical detection in the water better known in olfaction and chemoreception, there are many others, such as the specialised lateral line pit cells. These continue from the tale, along the flanks and down around the eye and along the bottom of the jaw ending very near the mouth. These are so vital to Cyprindae fish for example, that the jaw of these fish is shaped to allow this distribution of nerves and sensory pit arrangements from millions of years ago in their evolution.

Over all carp possess an amazing radar array with nerves all combining in the brain for the fish to respond appropriately to, and this is where we can truly exploit all these systems together in our baits and fishing approaches and tactics etc together in our favour, to make them far easier to catch! Obviously the more you know about what you are hunting, the more you can exploit everything vital to them, and carp olfaction and chemoreception are prime examples to exploit! You might discover carp become more predictable when you think like one rather than like an angler; even sensing weather changing and air pressure changes; many top anglers develop extra sensitivity naturally by being outside so much and this can act like a sixth sense when casting into a swim, choosing swims and so on!

The worm-like projections around the mouth of a carp help in the vital decisions and behaviours made in testing or eating an item, or rejecting it, and these are packed with high concentrations of specialised receptor cells; so getting your bait right is essential! You baits can absorb water so releasing substances, or even simply dissolve into the water in the case of highly soluble or hygroscopic additives, ingredients and flavour components like glycerol for instance. Now the chemical substances from your bait are most concentrated near your bait and this message in solution gets weaker travelling further away and this is obviously very significant in drawing fish to your bait!

Carp in part will locate your baits by tracking the strengthening concentrations of substances leaching from your baits as they get nearer their source in the water. Because fishing bait location and identification is related so much to fish olfaction and olfaction, covering the many essential and non-essential fish stimulatory substances and others in your baits really does exploit them and can make catching fish far easier! Many nutritionally balanced baits are great for getting fish into the habit of eating your baits on a regular basis too; and this can truly work in your favour and allow you to catch more fish despite perhaps many lacks in knowledge, skills or experience that an angler may have and these can be great equalisers and another reason I recommend homemade baits...

Carp and catfish senses are the key to manipulating their feeding and location behaviours in your favour and anglers who truly appreciate this often make catching great numbers of fish look easy and are able to certainly gain huge advantages over other anglers competing baits and their methods of application by constantly adapting with the fish! Many leading anglers truly appreciate how to leverage and adapt their baits because they know enough about exploiting carp senses and behaviour to do this and often to maximum effect, and it costs you very little to multiply your catches for life when you find (and utilise) the right information!
