Big Carp Fishing Bait Money Saving Secrets!

By Tim Richardson

You pay a fortune on bait hoping to catch lots of big fish and yet the average carp angler is just that - average, because he catches no more fish than the rest. This literally means something he is doing or thinking approach just is not working. Most anglers simply throw money in the bin in bait costs etc because they have missed something so very vital to success!

Most often carp and catfish anglers use boilies, pellets and hemp, maize and sweetcorn and prepared commercial ground baits, as free baits to attract and hold fish in their swim. And these are obviously consistent baits for fish like carp and catfish. But often the hidden (or obvious) problem, is that you end up with many fish gorging upon your free ground baits and not getting hooked at all, or comparatively little, compared to the feeding activity going on in your swim. This happens far more than anyone is really accurately aware of and is a more truly shocking thing when you calculate just how much of your bait is consistently going to waste...

If you are consistently feeding your swim each time you fish and this does not consistently equate to better catches, then you are simply feeding the fish, going through the motions and expecting miracles to occur as doing the same thing repeatedly and keeping expecting results to be different is simply a definition of insanity!

Even hard-fished for big catfish as well as carp can become particularly unresponsive to popular baits and techniques even though they may have been so successful previously! So how do you save all this wasted money on bait used in free baiting and actually improve your catches by converting your baiting into more fish, consistently; because that is the big issue here! You see it is not just bait costs which mount up through the year, but all the associated but increasing costs of fishing; like time not earning, travelling costs, food and drink money, fishing memberships or tickets, the huge regular costs of replacing all those fishing tackle bits etc!

Making your bait money equal more consistent catches in the short and long-term will certainly save you money in results terms per pound or dollar spent as less is actually wasted. Yes there are fisheries which are so easy a bare hook catches fish, but I'm referring here more to fishing hard syndicate waters, or the popular fishing pressured and over-crowded day-ticket waters where fish respond negatively to anglers baits and fishing pressure. How do you know what you are missing if all you do is measure your results compared to the average catches for a water, when the reality is that the average catches on a water may be very different indeed from what is truly possible for any individual angler?

It is the common habit of the average angler to put out free baits upon arrival at a fishery without too much thought about his or previous anglers impacts at any one moment in time, where fish may not actually feed confidently on baits that are fresh as they are associated with danger. The first few days and nights on many waters can just be largely a waste of time if fished conventionally. On harder waters it is most often the case that fish will shy away from fresh baits, preferring to feed on them when water has penetrated and leached them for a number of days and nights.

On very pressured fisheries, Mr average angler will bait-up upon arriving and perhaps fish for 48 hours, maybe blank, and then be followed into the swim by another angler who simply does the same things with the same thinking approaches, and gets the same poor catches as a result! This is a pattern that is prevalent on so many carp waters today and the conveyor-belt like manifestation of the straight-jacketed thinking the majority of average anglers seem satisfied with. Yes, occasionally the fortunate angler who happens to be in a previously such pre-baited swim with get good results and hence the appearance of so many so-called popular swims! But all this incessant baiting on many water in certain swims can backfire as fish respond to captures, and in such a case all the bait can go off and kill the swim (as Mr average carp angler arrives and baits up again , adding to the problem!)

Our angling behaviours can become simply habitual processes, where the thought of what has worked in the past must still work today dominates. But I tend to find each day is a different day and fish behaviour is dynamic constantly changing and adapting and what worked so well yesterday is the very thing the fish are so keenly wary of today!

I am lucky enough to have caught a rare very pale white 38 pound carp that had not been caught in over 7 years, from one UK water. In this instance it took the regular very unusually light style and frequency of baiting a swim, with a totally new bait to that water and for a week long period, that scored (and this big fish was followed by many more as a result.)

It took new bait attractors and rarely used feeding triggers in (new concentrations and combinations,) plus new baiting approaches, methods and applications to catch that very special fish which was followed by numbers of other good fish proving the effort of though even more worth-while. But there is something on every water to exploit that defeats the natural and angler-trained conditioning of fish responses and reactions to what you do in order to catch them. Being different even in one single way or combining new, adapted or new combinations of old ways etc can all achieve what just going through the motions cannot!

If you take the time to analyse the short-term and long-term impacts of what other anglers are doing on your water and link that to the negative (or positive) impacts on fish behaviours over any time period, you may begin to see how to exploit both fish and angler behaviour creatively. This thought is unique to your fishing situation at any point in time so will most likely produced the most accurately tuned possible actions, processes, thoughts and actions to solve the particular fishing challenges present. By analysing your fishing challenges and fishing situation in regards impacts of your fishing (and of other anglers) upon fish really can means you can save a fortune in wasted bait; as what you do use is leveraged with far greater results in catches in relation to money spent on bait achieving these!

To leverage the true power of your baits does take a little extra effort on your part but that effort is never wasted! But I hope this article makes you think a little more of further possibilities the next time you bait-up, as usual... This bait secrets ebooks author has many more fishing secrets insights and bait edges available and just one could impact very significantly on your big fish catches!

How To Make Homemade Carp Bait And Recipes For Big Fish!

By Tim Richardson

The most successful baits are different to ones that have caught them previously so the biggest point is to make your bait alternative and new to versions of baits which have been previously successful! All fish have a strong survival instinct and will relate baits they have been hooked on before with danger, with enough exposure. To keep using a bait just because it worked previously is not necessarily the best thing to do when your fish may already be feeding far more warily on it, making hooking them far harder!

Improving your baits competitive edges is all about adapting their ingredients or adding extra ones soaked in, or treating the bait with a new process so it smells and tastes different to its previous version. Other carp can senses come into the equation and be exploited in regards to texture, colour, density, shape, buoyancy, firmness, solubility and permeability etc. However you do it, changing a bait in even one small way can sustain your results on it or even totally transform your results far more positively!

Many baits simply tantalise the fish and evoke a curiosity response rather than provide anything nutritional and many angler get confused thinking that baits absolutely must be an perfect square meal to get takes, but this is completely untrue. Any change you make to a bait can induce a curiosity response from a fish regardless of any other olfaction or other chemoreception stimulation which might be present in the bait. Carp feed using far more senses than merely taste and smell and all can be exploited for improved and prolonged more consistent results!

Many anglers love to use flavors and others steer clear of using them. But one thing for sure is that the majority of anglers are only aware of a tiny fraction of forms of flavors and flavor substances and components available to use in our baits. The concentrated solvent based flavors so commonly used to change the smell and taste characteristic of a bait are a minor part of what you can leverage for great results!

We can associate flavors with fruits and sugars of many kinds from oranges and pineapples to apples, pears, butter and cream, spices and herbs, molluscs and crustaceans, fish and everything in between and those besides. But many flavors are beyond what most anglers would even term flavors and have bitter, sour, salty, sickly, acidic, highly pungent even repulsive effects on us humans, but carp absolutely love them. It is an interesting fact that complete digestion of many substances occurs as a direct result of bacterial action to help break down food in the gut which enzymes alone cannot digest. In this example, this means that flavors and ingredients that are partially digested or even represent or mimic these can be super attractive to fish

Whether you prefer food baits or flavors or even artificial baits like plastic corn or pellets, all can lose effectiveness after repeated captures of fish on any particular water. This is why constantly tweaking or altering your baits in minor or sometimes major ways can extend your catch results on them. The fishing bait industry is all too aware of exploiting this by offering multitudes of new products every year.

When you realise that carp will pick up anything between its lips to more fully sample and identify its potential a food you can understand why practically any bait will hook a carp at least once or never again. This means that fake baits are not the super baits many seem to think as over time these bait forms too will lose their initial advantages and edges through over-use and repeated capture conditioning of fish. Just by handling them you are tainting them with substances carp can detect and associate with danger if hooked on them and encountering them in the future.

So what is the translation of making a bait different in order to achieve perpetual edges over your fish especially in regards to bigger fish? The fact is there are thousands of substances to exploit and just one can make all the difference and transform your results. Put as simply as possible, fish and humans share numerous very vital processes which all relate to energy and its efficient use.

The natural foods which carp have survived and evolved to exploit in their natural environments have had more than just impacted upon the senses which detect these foods. Even the carp body itself has evolved physically in order to best detect, consume, digest and extract the maximum essential nutrition and energy it needs for survival. Betaine is found in many natural foods from root crops like sugar beet to molluscs and crustacean and fish themselves and even we humans contain betaine and it is a real essential!

Not surprisingly carp are highly stimulated by betaine as it has essential parts to play within its body and its feed triggering effects upon carp sensory mechanisms are is well recommended; especially with amino acids in your baits! The needs of carp for betaine are so high that it beats the intensity of feeding response to a range of well known stimulatory amino acids, the essential building blocks of proteins for growth for example. In fact betaine plays a great role in the formation of digestive juices especially for the digestion of proteins; human and carp digestion and enzymes are significantly similar in very many ways which we can exploit in our baits!

The vast diversity of substances that you can exploit and manipulate in our baits and many forms of ground baits etc to induce bite from carp are endless. But to make things clearer I have been able myself to categorise great numbers of these extremely desirable substances, ingredients, flavors etc into groups including their sources, uses and biological effects on carp. This has been extremely valuable but took over a full year to complete. You can do a bit of this yourself next time you read an ingredients list on a can of cola, bar of chocolate, readymade meal, can of beans, microwavable curry, and try and identify the substances which turn your body and senses on and make you want to eat more; it makes you think! The popularity of camp and fishing, boating and hunting and outdoors hobbies for sport and recreation combine well together, but bait is always the deciding factor if you catch fish or not despite all your efforts; so learn as much as you can and transform your catches!

Carp Fishing Baits And Intensive Feeding Secrets!

By Tim Richardson

Few carp fishermen realise that fish can switch their modes of feeding and you can exploit these and manipulate these to catch more fish! In fact you can make fish feed in the specific way you want by the form and size of baits you introduce as ground bait or chum making it ideal for far more natural and confident feeding leading to more bites.

It is well-known that jokers and blood worms have often been banned as baits from various fisheries because they impact upon the feeding behaviour of fish so much. Many species of fish and in particular the Cyprindae genus of fish, have many adaptations which help them switch between modes of feeding to exploit the higher profitabilities of one mode over another, depending on which forms of food are available and where they are located in the water or bottom sediment.

You may have watched koi or goldfish sucking algae off the sides of a pond. But carp can also feed by filtering tiny items from the water, while moving and even while stationary. The position and concentrations of natural foods like algae and crustaceans called zooplankton or daphnia fluctuate depending on sunlight angle and intensity, temperature and water mineral and oxygen concentrations among other time and seasonal variations. The successful use of very fine ground baits is one way to induce the filter feeding type of modes whilst on the way to the angler inducing feeding on larger food items such as boilies for instance.

You can exploit various feeds and fine liquid additives with particles in suspension to induce this kind of feeding, although there are many endless options for doing this effectively and yeast and liver powders and corn steep liquor and various less refined fish oils are obvious examples to begin with. Fish can taste their food using taste buds located in their pharyngeal cavity so this form of feeding is not sight oriented but taste oriented. Using induced filter and pump filter (gulping type feeding,) fish can get the nutritional stimulation of your free and hook baits without actually touching your baits but then having filter fed on them will often be in a far more excited physiological and mental state when they actually physically feed on them and carp filter feed predominantly in turbid waters.

When filter feeding and using similar and related modes, carp can actually benefit from you baits nutrition and attraction without even touching them which definitely has its advantages if you use this to excite them fully before they actually feed. Such things as vegetable and fish oils, fine crustacean and milk extract powders and liver and digestive tract extracts for example, can all be exploited, but there are thousands of choices. You bait substances through carp filter feeding can induce a feeding frenzy state even before your carp have even swallowed a single bait!

It is natural for fish like bream, roach, carp, tench, barbel, and even bass and trout, to filter feed at times by capturing various sized food particles within their branchial sieves. However there this sieving can be adjusted in order to capture patches of fine particles or to capture larger single items and the characteristic speed of this feeding can vary between species. In the case of carp which are termed slow suction feeders, although they can suck up finer particles from one head length away from it at surprisingly high velocities indeed.

Not all attention should be placed upon the chemical sensing of food items as with carp as other sense may also predominate including sight and even electrical lateral line detection of the tiny movements in the water of zooplankton! In the case of bait size, the diameter of the fish's mouth is not always the limiting factor in certain feeding details, but in fact the diameter of the throat where chewing of food takes place. Small items are more natural to feed on for carp for much of the year round except at times when larger nutritious items are abundant such as fry in spring and molluscs like larger snails in the autumn etc.

Smaller food items can naturally be passed to the throat teeth in mouthfuls without any problem and of course the more energy efficient the food delivery system is the better. It can often be the case that small baits are the preferred choice of more experienced big fish anglers because they can see the benefits of smaller food items in regards how fish feed on such baits and also their more natural weight, size and movement in water when combined with a correctly balanced hook rig. I find boilies in the 6 to 8 millimetre size excellent for bigger more wary fish even with huge mouths!

If you look at the success of captures on small pieces of baits fished over crumbs of baits or fine particulate ground baits saturated with nutritional liquid food additives with added blood worms, maggots, sweetcorn and hemp seeds etc, you can see distinct advantages because it taps into more of the fishes ranges of natural modes of feeding. It is no surprise that fishing tiny hook baits makes sense for big fish even those with huge mouths, when their most efficient and predominant modes of feeding involve the gulping, filter feeding and particulate feeding modes, as opposed to chasing down prey fish for example (although carp do this too.) When you match up the primary feeding modes of your target fish at that time of season to the ground baits, rigs and hook bait characteristics and sizes you choose using a bit more expert knowledge, and your fishing success can be truly multiplied for life...

Carp Fishing Baits And Intensive Feeding Secrets!

By Tim Richardson

Top fishermen know that by exploiting the way your target fish feed at any time of day or night or time of the season, they can reliably improve their catches and keep catching more consistently than the average angler. This is one very significant bait and rig subject which is neglected by the majority of anglers. In fact fish like carp change their mode of feeding all the time even over a 24 hour period or in an instant and you can manipulate and induce changes in feeding to catch far more fish!

Blood worms (and jokers) are notorious natural baits known for being banned owing to their extreme success at match venues. This is a good lesson to all carp anglers in how carp feed and exploit their modes of feeding. Fish like carp can feed in many ways, from dashing about after fry, to slowly sifting through silt for many hours with their heads totally buried. It makes logical sense to get to know exactly what your fish is eating at what time of day or night, where and why in order to fully exploit the form of feeding used at any point in time, or to even induce the one you wish the carp to use in order perhaps to hook them more easily by leveraging special bait formats and ingredients.

This kind of feeding or similar can be used to further explore the potential of your hook baits and free baits as food items even before your bait is actually touched by a fish. You might have seen a fish suddenly dart towards a bait after having started gulping in water first to taste your bait more efficiently using taste buds in the pharyngeal cavity in the gill area. Fish also use gulping in a snapping motion in a mobile pump feeding) or static position to filter feed and particulate feed and carp and bream do this much of the time in turbid lakes; lazy of what!

Carp actually derive very significant nutrition by filter feeding as this is the primary mode of feeding used especially in turbid lakes. It is a great advantage to use this mode to good effect, and I have had outstanding success for bigger carp fishing over ground bait and forms of more soluble boilies and pellets forms over deep silt in smaller turbid lakes; where catching filter feeding carp can be very difficult with more conventional approaches and large baits and pellets etc. This method of feeding exploitation can drive fish into a feeding frenzy even though no solid bait has actually been consumed yet!

Carp, barbel and tench and even trout and bass feed to varying degrees using filter feeding and they use branchial sieves to do so. These are adjustable in order to catch the most profitable nutritious particles sizes available, depending on concentration and abundance. These are also adjusted to catch batches of particles or individual large ones. In feeding terms, carp are categorised as suction feeders and slow ones at that, but that hides the fact that they can suck up items at a tremendously powerful velocity when required which has great rig implications especially when a fish is filter feeding on food at a long distance from the fish's head where long rigs and critically balanced baits have great benefits!

It often seems to be the case that carp fishing baits focus goes on chemical smells for instance which are very obvious to our senses, but it needs to be remembered that fish have extremely fine tuned lateral line cells which use electrochemical impulses in the detection of food items even by the tiny movements of zooplankton only 1 millimetre in diameter. The gape size of a fish's mouth is normally not a limiting factor in efficient feeding, but the diameter of the area where the food is chewed is and it is often far less than the gape of the mouth. Therefore its makes sense to exploit this and use smaller baits than often recommended. In fact carp in turbid lakes predominantly depend on food which is in particle size, so why not go with this approach not against it!

Carp Bait Making Made Simple For Economical Big Fish Captures!

By Tim Richardson

These days saving money on fishing is very important and anything you can do to get better results for less money is worth doing and making your own unique homemade fishing baits is a fantastic example and need take very minimal time! There are a few basics to know about making baits and once you have these you can go ahead and make very unique and successful baits economically for the rest of your life. Making your own baits will save you're a shocking amount of money and not just in the long-term; so imagine what else you could be spending your hard-earned money on instead!

For the more technically minded fisherman, carp do not get their energy needs from carbohydrates but mostly protein and also fats and oils in their natural diet. Being aquatic they are extremely well adapted to extract far more energy from protein foods than humans on land. The very basic protein requirements of carp are extremely significant in terms of making effective baits because these are composed of basic building blocks called amino acids, some of which carp essentially need to consume in order to survive.

There are around 10 basic essential amino acids that carp need although there are a few others, but let's keep things as simple as possible for now. These include: lysine, methionine, arginine, phenylalanine, valine, tryptophan, leucine, isoleucine, histidine and threonine. Carp eat foods containing these amino acids because they are essential. Using almost anything that a fish basically needs to survive can give you the edge you need to get bites although exploiting fish nutritional needs are not the only way to get bites; in fact, far from it!

Our bodies and carp bodies have evolved and adapted to extract energy in the most efficient ways from food found in our natural environments. With carp we can simulate or even boost the natural attraction and stimulation of substances found in their natural foods in our baits. The range of ingredients, extracts, liquid attractors, flavors etc we can use to exploit carp natural food detection senses is phenomenal and ensures we can always make unique homemade baits!

The fuss made about protein carp baits is fair because exploiting dietary essential, particularly highly stimulatory ones such as amino acids is very significant for good results. But just because amino acids are popularly exploited by using protein ingredients does not mean you have to use protein ingredients at all in our baits, and there are very many other angles and approaches to take which are very economical indeed and even wheat, rice or corn flour based baits made with some know-how work a treat! All you need to do is manipulate and exploit any of a range of attractor and stimulator substances, many of which you can add by way of proprietary liquid dips and soaks etc.

But protein based baits are not strictly necessary to get bites of course and a multitude of baits including those based on carbohydrates like wheat flour or corn flour will still catch very well indeed providing they are altered to keep them in effect new and different to previous baits. Many of the most economical bait recipes based on carbohydrate ingredients have consistently caught big fish for decades despite arguments raging over quality food versus crap baits and other theories. If you keep changing your attractors even just by using alternative proprietary flavor dips you can always keep ahead of your fish on any particular fishery; just remember to exploit what stimulates fish naturally and avoid over-dosing with solvent based flavours unless you are fishing single bait style.

So many carp fisheries are over-stocked that the fish need to eat your bait and treat it as natural food. As many carp anglers know well, possibly the greatest edge is to be different and so you can fish with confidence against any well-used readymade commercial bait knowing your unique bait has a great edge of being different and unique. This is one great motivator for me to make my own extremely economical and productive homemade carp baits rather than spend 10 pounds or 20 Dollars on a bag of readymade bait that others are already using!

Many carp fishermen get confused between the nutritional aspect of bait as opposed to the stimulatory aspect and assume that a bait absolutely needs to be totally nutritionally attractive and stimulating as a complete food in order to do the job, but this is just not true. Many perceived simple ingredients may have very surprising nutritional attraction in any key aspect whether it be vitamins, or minerals, oils or some other aspect like simulating something which carp naturally eat confidently (many flavours do this but have zero nutritional value.) It is a fact however, that amino acids rank among the most highly feeding stimulatory substances for carp and so exploiting this aspect in your baits is advantageous, but then you have endless other possibilities and combinations to choose from, to save you money and hook you those dream fish; all you need is to know a bit more about bait!

Homemade Carp And Catfish Sausage Meat Baits!

By Tim Richardson

Big carp and catfish have been caught on very cheap but extremely effective sausage meat baits for decades. Homemade sausage meat baits and ground baits are enormously cheaper than many shop-bought baits and expensive popular luncheon meat and Pepperoni products. Let's see how to make yourself some big fish baits that really save you money and catch big fish!

Using sausage meat is rather more ethical than basing your baits on very valuable marine resources, but you can use it to bulk-up certain fish or shellfish bait mixes to cut costs and create different nutritional profiles, tastes effects etc. you can easily get sausage meat fresh or frozen fresh and fresh is best although catfish are also renowned for loving baits just souring, but I would prefer to use this effect with blood based baits for instance and not pork. Often the biggest fish in your water will take a new safe bait pretty quickly and certainly sausage meat based baits are not trendy so can really give you many competitive edges!

Making baits from congealed or minced sausage meats is really simple, fast and easy. It contains many nutrients that stimulate big catfish and carp with many oils and amino acids etc. Although many sausage meat products contain rusk and cereal is great bulking and binding agent, you can use extremely cheap wheat flour for example, plus eggs to bind it into a dough, to use as bait, or to make paste baits or produce boiled baits.

So how do you further produce one of the cheapest home made protein baits fast and easily?

Use a large pan or bowl to make a bait mix using a test batch of about half a pound of meat plus about 2or 3 hen's eggs and enough wheat flour added to bind into dough. This is practical bait to use immediately, or you can store it in plastic bags and store in the freezer or fridge for future sessions. Although these meat baits (like any bait ingredients) may vary in nutritional profiles and fish effects and catch results, they are normally instant type baits and reliable fish catchers straight from the first cast.

Putting regular batches of baits in swims is a very good advantage to get fish to really respond to your new bait. (You do not have to do this using sausage meat as it is mostly instant acting; but why miss a good trick!?) If you put out golf ball size baits a few times into swims before using it, then fish will eat this safe bait and it will definitely improve your results come the time of using when you do fish with it!

Introducing safe free baits is never a wasted exercise and in fact this is one of the most powerful methods of achieving big fish catches anyway. Many easy ground baits can be made from sausage meat too. Using paste on the hair or direct on the hook has been catching big carp and catfish for decades, and now is a great time to try it! Paste bait is really effective but if smaller fish are troublesome simply scald or par-boil your baits to make them more resistant and use paste on your rig too!

As most commercial rolled baits have uniform shapes, your homemade baits in odd shapes have the advantage over more wary fish by disrupting their reference points! Boilies are just made by placing your dough baits only a handful at a time in half a pan of boiling water in a pan for a couple of minutes; this makes a resilient skin when they dry-off on conveniently placed absorbent towels or trays etc. keep your water boiling at all times by not adding too many baits at once and keep taking baits out after around 2 minutes or so.

Boiling baits for longer makes them harder as the eggs proteins coagulate more making your baits more resilient, but less attractive nutritionally. To make your baits more attractive the choices are many to improve results. Even adding garlic or sea salt or curry powders even at a teaspoon per egg will make a difference to performance.

Really cheap homemade sausage baits might mirror Pepperoni products and you can add herbs and spices to improve attraction and stimulates fish digestion and general metabolism which is extremely valuable thing to do! You might simply add yeast powders, or Marmite or Vegemite to improve your stimulatory nutritional profile or use various matured cheeses which are rich in stimulatory salts and bacterially predigested proteins. Save money by adding a proportion of liquidised liver instead of more expensive liquid protein amino acids supplements for instance to boost nutritional stimulation.

The fact is that there are thousands of additives, liquids, flavours and some very refined and advanced bait ingredients and extracts you could use. Many ingredients are often used to most exploit the food detection systems of fish which have internal and external specialised cells which enable fish to instinctively home in on your bait. You might use a proprietary flavour like Secret Agent, Megaspice, Mulberry Florentine or Maple steep liquor, vodka, spice oleoresins, or add MSG to enhance taste, or simply add salted liquidised liver or liver pate, (just a desert spoonful per egg of 2 these will keep big results coming your way!)

The options are limited only by your imagination; but using proven fish feeding triggering substances and metabolically stimulating substances are among the best proven substances when you look at bait components... Homemade sausage meat baits (and ground baits) for big carp and catfish are well proven against any popular modern baits (even enzyme-active ones,) and I've proven this myself (although my baits are sometimes rather more complex than here.) So give them a try and you might decide to get much deeper into making your own homemade baits; but beware - they can become addictive!

Radio Controlled Boats - What You Need To Know Before Buying

By Birgit F.

If you want an interesting hobby, it might be time for you to take a look at radio controlled boats. What kind of boat do you want, and how much cash can you invest in them? What kind of boat are you interested in, and do you want to put the boat together yourself or do you want to purchase one ready to run?

First you will need to make sure you have to right place to run your new boat available. Do you have a body of water that is near you and is very calm and free of weeds? If that is the case you are off to a great start as this is the ultimate environment for radio controlled boats.

Consider the three types of RC boats that are available to you. The three categories are divided into how they are fueled. Electric RC boats are perhaps the easiest and least expensive to start off with, and they use batteries that you charge in a wall outlet. They are not as powerful as the other types, and when the batteries get drained, you need to think about replacing the batteries or plugging them back in to recharge. Take some time to see if they are the boats that you should get started with.

If you are looking for an intermediate level of RC boats, you'll find that you may be interested in nitro powered RC boats. These boats run on a mix of nitrogen and methane, and you'll get a lot of power from them. This is a more expensive sort of boat, however. Also keep in mind that you can refuel quickly and easily and get right back on the water.

Finally, we have the gasoline powered boats, which are the most powerful RC boats on the market as well as being the fastest. They run off of a mixture of oil and gasoline and these boats are considered the top of the line. It is important to remember, however, that they are also the most expensive and the loudest. Finding a place where you can use them can be difficult, but you'll find that the high initial investment is worth it because it has lower refueling costs than the nitro-methane powered boats. What boats are you interested in picking up?

Whether you choose a high end gasoline RC boat, a nitro RC boat or an electric RC boat, make sure that you take some time to see how the boat handles. A single hull that has a deep V shape will give you the best handling without impacting your speed.

When you don't have a lot of cash, or the space that you have to run is fairly small, consider getting an electric RC boat, at least to start. They are not as powerful or as fast as the other two models, but there are plenty of options to choose from, and there are some models that run as fast as 40mph.

An electric rc boat might also be the best solution if you have to run your boat in or near a residential neighborhood where nitro and gasoline rc boats would be way too loud and might even get you banned. Electric rc boats are very quiet and will not disturb the peace.

Radio controlled boating is a great hobby to get into and is rather easy to enter. With so many choices it offers something for every person. You can enjoy building the boats, running them, or, if you really want to challenge yourself and experience it as a team sport, racing them.

In conclusion I recommend that you purchase a radio controlled boat that is suitable for your environment, your desires, and your budget.

Cheap Homemade Carp Fishing Baits for Big Fish!

By Tim Richardson

The best thing about making homemade baits is the control and incredible satisfaction they provide in terms of control over your costs and catches and actual ingredients and so on you might choose to exploit to best effect! Most anglers discuss baits in terms of their favourite flavours or brands with very little focus upon exactly how such baits really impact upon fish senses which is a great shame (this aspect is a massive advantage lost on the majority of average anglers!) So if you want to know more about the truth about the real power of homemade baits and need help in designing and making them fast " just read on!

The growing numbers of anglers in the UK and all around the world reflect a movement towards the desire of anglers to take back control over every aspect of their fishing and the desire to understand more complete details about bait and actually how it works in relation to carp diet and senses etc that in the past has been largely ignored by the majority who have been dependant upon readymade baits! When I began carp fishing in the nineteen-seventies everyone made their own baits out of necessity and it really was a challenge to find appropriate and accurate information about what exactly made carp feed and what fulfilled their essential nutritional requirements that you could actually get hold of and use in homemade baits, but all this experience and knowledge has meant our homemade baits can hold their own and even out-fish popular brand readymade boilies. Homemade baits have always if so desired been a tremendously effective economical and unique edge in carp fishing, (being different is vital to constant success of course,) it is very easy to forget that the relatively few truly knowledgeable bait designers with the big bait companies all started out at home in their own kitchens or garden sheds!

Perceptions have changed in carp fishing to an unbelievable degree in recent years; my own twenty fish caught in the UK over forty pounds would be very average on some crazily-priced impossible to get into carp syndicates today, but the fact is that if your goal is big fish, you must fish waters containing them or never achieve your goals at least until the fish you have present access to grow that size if they ever do that is! Many limiting factors are involved in both bait details and fishing itself; commonly it is lack of time and good waters, (or restricted access to them,) exorbitant membership or day ticket prices or bait costs involved in truly being able to establish a bait on a water for an average angler that limits catch results very severely that results in average or lower than average yearly catches for average anglers. Obviously if you are a sponsored angler, in the tackle and bait trades, are a full-time angler, or have the time and resources, or personal support and contacts available etc (which can all come into the equation of success) then your chances of carp fishing success can be far higher than the average.

Like most carp anglers, I do not have the luxury of any of the advantages of the full-time sponsored angler or retired builders for example with loads of money and time to sit on big fish waters and rave about what great anglers they are (big deal!)! I have to fish against bait and tackle-sponsored anglers wherever I fish just the same as most of my fellow anglers, but one thing I have is desire, focus and willingness to constantly learn and refine my thinking which is so vital in fishing. Being able to make an effective homemade carp bait is a very well proven leveller to those advantages others may have in terms of money, time, personal contacts and up to date fishing intelligence and so on.

Your carp bait making efforts are always far more valuable in terms of improving your long-term success than you could ever imagine; what you learn about the stimulatory impacts of ingredients and substances puts you light years ahead of average anglers who are merely dependant upon ready made baits to solve their problems! You might be worried that you will make mistakes while designing and making your very own secrets baits but in fact these mistakes are not what they seem and actually provide excellent solutions for potent crumbly ground baits, highly flavoured attractor pastes etc and well over 90 percent of all your homemade baits will catch carp against the best readymade baits (but at a fraction of the cost!) One of the biggest secrets of making and designing homemade baits is providing carp with enough addictive and naturally stimulating substances within your baits so they have every reason to pick them up when fished against competing baits " and given the key knowledge (see my ebooks at Baitbigfish,) literally anyone can do this!

The average carp angler has been conditioned by appearances to associate carp baits with flavours; many are still on the basic level of asking other anglers what flavour they are using and this is a great shame as these anglers are missing out on tremendously better catches if they knew more! The real key to long-term success for average-skilled anglers is the use of nutritionally stimulating baits seriously packed with optimum levels of nutritional substances carp need in order to survive. Many versions of food style baits are being offered commercially by countless companies, but the large majority of these baits are in effect wasted by the fish due to being indigestible to varying degrees " but make no mistake, they still catch carp on many carp waters.

Flavours and the leverage of high levels of concentrated flavours for instance in hook baits is another option and many more talented and better-skilled carp anglers catch loads of big carp using these if only on a single-hook bait fishing approach. The most famous flavours need no mention here, but suffice to say, you can easily over-dose almost any bait with these flavours for great results (at least in the very short-term) on a variety of waters. Flavours vary enormously in their level of bioactive potency and the degree to which they stimulate the combined and individual senses of carp " certain chilli extracts for instance will potentiate reactions that actually involve a pleasure " from pain response; but please note that every carp bait ingredient has something about it carp detect if only in a few parts per million!

In my opinion the best starting point in making homemade baits, is to get to really become familiar with many of the natural feeding triggers carp are most sensitive to, from monophosphates, amino acids, (and other amines) similes and analogues of natural substances etc; then seek out the very highest quality products available that contain these for bait use at a reasonable price. There are many hidden factors in sourcing ingredients, such as taste enhancers or squid extracts that have been cut with cheaper products and constant experimentation is the key to outstanding results; but this is the learning curve that literally everyone that makes new baits is on. It is very possible for the beginner to boost a simple homemade 50:50 soya and semolina boilie base mix by the addition of high levels of a additives or ingredients that will supply many potent feeding triggers; such as fermented shrimp powder, de-fatted green-lipped mussel extract, enzyme-treated liver powder, abalone powder, Ccmoore Feedstim XP powder etc; these will make all the difference, so do yourself a big favour and find out more " and my unique bait secrets ebooks (at Baitbigfish) make very stimulating reading!

Easy Homemade Carp Baits For Big Fish And Saving Money

By Tim Richardson

We fishermen pay lots of money for readymade fishing baits! The fact is that if they were so wonderful, companies would not have to keep on offering new baits all the time! Just the same number of fish or more, can be caught as a result of making your own unique baits and this will save you bags of money too!

Having a unique bait is one of the greatest competitive advantages in fishing. This is very often the factor which tips fish over from the state of just testing a bait, to actually taking it into its mouth along with your hook, and giving a very desirable run. There is no doubt in my mind after over 3 decades of making homemade fishing baits, that they can compete against commercial readymade baits on any water or venue.

Now I'm not saying that you will produce a wonder bait which fish simply jump straight into your net and beg for! Even with the very best baits, all the usual skills of fish location, bait application and skilfully playing your big fish are still required. But on your own homemade baits, the rewards and joys of catching your personal life time best fish on your personal secret bait formula is just incredible. This is why it is so important to exploit the massive fish catching factor of making your baits very unique.

This is a point lost on most readymade bait users! The great edge of bait is being different to ones fish wary of already as a result of previous hooking and captures on it. So make your baits as unique as possible as frequently as you think your results indicate you may need to.

Popular baits in many ways do have a shelf life in terms of longevity of effectiveness. Top bait manufacturers will tell you that even in a stock pond which has never been fished, when a new bait has been fished intensively by a number of anglers successfully, their results can slow right up even literally to the point of no more fish being caught on that bait. (This is no exaggeration, for example Gary Bayes of the international bait company Nashbaits told me of his experience of this!) Many baits exploit highly concentrated flavors in order to affect bait pH to stimulate fish. Others use the biological nutritional value approach and call their baits food baits for this reason.

I could not believe how easy and simple it was for me to make baits that hooked big fish straight away literally while still hot, even using the most basic of ingredients. Homemade baits can be just amazingly instant and fill you will so much confidence. I do not even bother to make baits that have a round or barrel shape or an even skin at all and I most often do not even boil them to make them resilient boilies either. This is because your greatest edge with bait is their difference. Therefore if you bait feels different, has a different shape, colour, texture, buoyancy, density, firmness or softness or permeability or solubility for example, then it is far more likely to out-fish readymades with ease! That is why making homemade baits is so easy.

As I said, round baits are not needed. Things have changed drastically in the last 3 decades. There are many methods which introduce free baits well over 100 metres accurately, including ground bait slings, spods and PVA bags and nets etc. So you do not need to ever roll your baits. To make a starter effective bait you need only use one ingredient or a couple like soya flour and semolina, add enough eggs to bind them together, and make a dough to use as bait (and every bait can be different!) These might be used as paste or cut or divided into many different shaped and sized bits which you might scald with water or boil for a few seconds to harden them up to make them more resilient.

The easy way to make a paste or boilie bait base mix is to use about 6 hen eggs in a pot or bowl, whisked with about 5 millilitres of a cake flavor and 1 millilitre of intense sweetener. Then slowly add a fifty - fifty mixture of semolina powders and soya flour or maize meal or corn flour, until you have a workable dough, not too sticky and soft and not too firm to pull apart easily.

When your dough is ready you can use it immediately, or put it labelled plastic bags for later use. Store baits in the fridge or freeze them. It is best to make a note of the ingredients and levels in each individual bait mix. To make around a kilogram of bait it takes about 6 eggs with your dry powders. But this is a very rough guide and every mix can vary widely depending on ingredients, their solubility etc.

Having the knowledge to be able to consistently make homemade baits for a mere 3 pounds or 6 dollars per kilogram, instead of 12 pounds or 24 dollars is stunning. Just think of the saving on 10 kilograms costing 120 pounds or 220 dollars! (90 pounds or 180 dollars is a giant saving and is literally homemade made money!)

If having a different bait can produce such a difference in results you may as well have the goal of being as innovative as possible with yours as you create new versions for those big fish you dream of catching. The spooky thing about new baits on a water is that they very often produce the biggest most sought after fish within a short space of fishing time because they are fresh and new. Now this is as great a motive as anyone needs to take up bait making and is the icing on the cake. You can use simple forms of bait mentioned here, but you will discover that with successful baits comes the excitement of making more creative ones, and bait making can be extremely exciting, even an integral addictive part of your fishing, as you thirst for more information!

Addictive Carp Fishing Baits That Really Work!

By Tim Richardson

Many anglers fish without ever knowing how their baits actually induce fish to behave the way they do; in taking bait and hook into their mouths. But if you knew better how to achieve this effect in practice, and how to manipulate it more appropriately at times, do you think this would increase your chances of bites and fish landed? If so, then read on!

Bait always involves confidence and indeed many anglers constantly doubt their bait because they do not understand how they truly work, except having very limited and even incorrect ideas or impressions about proteins or flavours; as a result, many anglers are negative about certain baits, without even ever having used them personally! Confidence catches fish for many reasons because it makes you fish better and be sharper and more tuned-in and expectant of success, so you tend to do more things right at the right time, more often, but you can all the confidence in the world and still blank because of a lack of knowledge and understanding! Confidence is the thing that sells commercial readymade baits and anglers take second-hand opinions from so-called big-name anglers thinking they will emulate their success using the same bait, forgetting that many (not all) big-name anglers are the most skilled and talented anglers of their generation.

Now you might wonder what all this confidence stuff has to do with actually knowing something useful about vital carp senses beyond appreciating that they like a bit of protein or a maybe have a flavour preference now and again. In terms of flavours, not all are the same! If I suggested that chilli powder can help your bait be detected from greater range by senses involving various specialised receptor cells and specialised canal pits along the lateral line (and in the actual skin of the fish,) this might be new to many.

Many secrets are hidden from our senses but uncovered very easily by a little messing about with baits and some very elementary science, for instance, many carp bait substances change when in water into different ones to those we experience as humans in air... Garlic releases that pungent smell when broken in air and we are all familiar with similar compounds from onions and chives for example. But the smells from garlic we associate with its success are not strictly accurate, as certain of the key chemicals do not get produced in water the same as in air, and this might suggest to some thinking anglers that far more is going on, perhaps on a more deeper level to do with the biology of the fish in response to bioactive garlic substances rather than just a smell or taste.

Perhaps you might begin to think maybe something other than just smell and taste was influential and impacting on the carp; maybe something more profound, internal and physiological, or even psychological... To help clarify this big point, I ate a wheat-free biscuit (and wheat-free doughnut today!) Comparing the ingredients with the wheat-containing versions, the only substitution was that the wheat-free foods were based on maize flour, tapioca starch, soya flour and rice flour. All the rest of the ingredients in the wheat-free products were the same as the conventional wheat-based biscuits and doughnuts, including the fruit flavours, sweeteners, acidity regulators, (preservatives) and enhancers etc.

What a disappointment it was to eat the wheat-free foods and not want more! Although they still have all the same ingredients like the flavours, sweeteners and enhancers etc, something vital was missing that made me want to keep on eating and this is why I only had one doughnut; Homer Simpson would have been shocked to say the least! There was no key vital substance in the food to make my brain release a rush of feel-good hormones that occurs naturally in the wheat-based foods.

If you apply this to fishing, it is like using a bait with a flavour and sweetener, and fishing next to it a bait with the same ingredients exactly, but with that extra vital brain chemical releasing impact. Which food or bait will catch more fish and which might you go for preferentially?! As it is your brain the makes the decision for your body you may have no choice and you may have noticed that so many people over-eat wheat-based foods and store-up fat as a result despite this being far from a healthy thing to do; it's natural drug-induced behaviour for sure, even though certain emotions are frequently still involved!

In fact many of the same ingredients are in so many foods that in bulk are definitely harmful to the body, but induce people to buy them. Any carp angler knows that tiger nuts and peanuts for instance also have substances that also lead to this type of behaviour. Whether you term this induced habit-forming or addictive behaviour, it is just as profoundly significant, applicable and powerful when it comes to getting a bait edge over your carp and over other competing baits... This fishing bait secrets ebooks author has many more fishing and bait edges - just one might well impact very significantly on your big fish catches!

Advice When You're Choosing Jon Boats

By Lena Hellsten

Jon boats are the basic open rough boats that are suitable for sport fishermen or to use as a transport boat in shallow waters. These types of boats are usually flat-bottomed with a square stern and this why they perform so well in shallow and calm waters.

These boats were originally made out of wood and have been around on the waters for a long time. They are normally using an outboard motor to get around. Nowadays, the wooden Jon boat is just one of many kinds. You can find Jon boats in other materials that are great since they require less maintenance than wood.

Apart from wood, polyethylene, fiberglass and aluminum are the most common materials for Jon boats. They are all good choices and which kind you choose depends on where youre going to use your boat and what youre going to use it for.

Aluminum is a great material if youre going to use your boat in lakes and rivers and also if you can expect to get a few beats from rocks. You dont want to have an aluminum boat if youre mainly going to be on salty waters since it can cause damage and leakage to the boat early on.

If this is the case, youre probably better off with a polyethylene boat since this material is very resistant to salty water. This boat is also strong and can take a few beats yet you should avoid dragging a Jon boat out of polyethylene over rough surfaces.

Fiberglass is also suitable for boats that are going to be used in salty waters. If youre looking for a boat that is quieter this is your best option even though it is a little bit weaker than polyethylene.

To get a boat that is made out of the material that is suiting your specific needs is very important so it is good to spend some time looking into this and in this way ensure youre getting the right kind.

If you want a boat that is easy to handle, safe to drive and that is good to use for fishing and shorter transportation, a Jon boat is a very good choice. Make sure youre getting your boat from someone that has a lot of knowledge and you can be sure that you will have a boat thats perfect for your needs.

Carp Fishing Bait Secrets For Your Best Catch Ever!

By Tim Richardson

Many more new carp anglers swell the ranks of already heavily-pressured carp waters each year, and any tips and tricks and insights that give you edges other anglers and their baits, preferably saving you loads of money too, are very valuable! You will find some powerful insights and home truths about how to catch more carp for less money by maximising baits far more to their full potential and keeping full control over their impacts on carp and how much they cost!

You might think fish location is the most important factor in carp fishing, or a sharp hook, but my testing with big heavy blunt hooks, and random choice of old baits shows that neither in the absence of any application of watercraft nor any resemblance of an effective rig, big carp still wind up getting hooked! I used to think very conventionally that fish location is paramount followed by a very sharp hook on a proven rig for the occasion, but my results using basically rotten bait presentations in swims and areas looking about as unfavourable for a carp as possible, and using some of the most weird-smelling odd-looking old baits showed that unusual new bait is more than likely far more important and influential to success than first presumed!

When testing one friends successful ground bait mix by feeding fish 3 versions of it in a stock pond at Horseshoe Lake the difference between the carp responses to his bait and my 2 new versions were staggering. In fact my friend was a bailiff and was a top rod on that lake using his own recipe of homemade spod mix. But when introduced to stock pond carp beside my versions of his own spod mix, his mix was completely ignored and was left untouched, and meanwhile carp actually head-butted the bottom in search of the other new versions, (this was even after they had all been consumed!)

What occurred and the severe black and white result of the spod baits test came as a big shock to my friend who simply could not understand why his best spod mix had been left there on the bottom completely untouched by obviously very stimulated carp, tench and roach. I had expected to be able to improve on the performance and response strength of his spod mix by adding the potent substances chosen but I did not really believe myself that these would completely stop the original bait from being eaten at all and this was a shock to me too as the implications are very powerful and far-reaching indeed. If you ever fish next to someone and fail to catch on what is your best bait or a formerly very successful bait you might well question what it is doing or not doing and how it has been designed (or not) to specifically impact on your fishes senses and other systems...

Even though many believe in the high and balanced nutritional bait approach or the instant bait approach and any permutation in between, what ultimately matters from a results point is that you get a hook into a mouth in order to hook it, but obviously this is nowhere as simple as it might sound and success in this varies by miles between different baits. There is also the phenomenon of so many anglers free baits being regularly consumed while hook baits get rejected, and even put aside or marked as a potential threat by carp communicating between each other in various ways in a baited swim. Many anglers talk about carp having to get hooked because in order to sample baits they need to pick them up and chew them, but the fact is much of the substance of a bait in water can be identified and even filter-fed upon without a carp ever actually touching a bait let alone actually taking it into the mouth and consuming it.

The number of carp on any water that respond far better to new and unique baits that have not been experienced by carp before shows the extent to which carp instinctive cautionary defence mechanisms for survival operate and homemade baits and ground baits are especially ideal for enabling any ordinary angler to keep ahead of the crowd and pressured carp!

By being able to make your own baits and adapt readymade baits you control many vital aspects of bait, from the ways they impact on carp senses, rate of metabolism and feeding and digestion, to your all important bait cost itself! Picture the effect on carp of being able to introduce free baits with far high levels of natural feed-triggering substances than bait companies can afford to sell profitably and the results you will be able to achieve! Probably the most obvious example for this cold water period is the possibility of including far higher levels of the famous green lipped mussel extract and betaine hydrochloride for instance which are very well proven to keep carp feeding more strongly and more repeatedly for longer, thus giving you far more chances of bites and hooked fish...

Just the popularity of one substance such as betaine shows that one substance that carp are naturally highly stimulated by can have a big improvement in catches, but there are many other substances to exploit in many various ways. Just as betaine and corn steep liquor are used in powder and soluble liquid forms you can apply this to a vast multitude of other substances you might never have considered before. The successful permutations and combinations are truly endless always keeping you ahead of those ever changing and adapting carp.

Anyone in the know when it comes to fishing baits, truly appreciates that outstanding catches are very much linked to the ability of an angler to control and maintain the concentration of excitory substances in close proximity to their hook baits, and knowledge of certain aspects of homemade bait making really do help in achieving this even with adapted readymade baits and ground baits! Try fishing with a PVA bag of whole readymade boilies compared to a bag of readymade boilies opened 3 days before use and crumbled and chopped and soaked in a feed-triggering PVA-friendly complex and cast out in a PVA bag holding a PVA-friendly glug too; the results are pretty different to say the least! But perhaps the biggest wake-up call of all is not merely the ability to control how your baits impact strongly on your fish and control swims etc, but the ability to control your spending by being able to spend on those ingredients, additives and so on with the most impact on fish; so requiring less bait but producing improved effects; with the best part being your shocking money savings!

Marine Electronics

By Alexis Kenne

Marine GPS system turns out to be intimate to many mariners.this Marine GPS navigation, can be used to help you get back to the coast if you are lost in an unidentified waters, find the way in the night and locate big fish or keep away from wrekage. All this depending on the individual.

In the last century, many boaters were not equipped with these navigation systems. They had to trace their way out buy using the then available methods of consulting star charts, using longitudes and latitude lines to find out their way. These various tracking and navigation systems were time consuming and inaccurate. With the evolution of science and technology, several satellites were lunched into space and with this the GPS navigation systems were developed. These systems work by sending signals of longitudes and latitude so as to locate where exactly a particular object is located on the earths surface. This technology has today greatly helped in the development of fishing sonar and the Marine GPS and has greatly improved the fishing sector.

Future of The Marine GPS: Today the Marine GPS is more and more strong, and they are produced in Hand-Held designs, and even up to the Marine GPS Navigation LapTop computers.Nomatter the types you want and their functions, you will have a Marine GPS which will perform all you want, even if its on topography, navigation in foreign waters,or to go on camping or hiking,Incase its a Hand-Held Marine GPS take it along. Some bigger Yachts and Cruisers use it as 'Auto-Pilot' for their ships, and it helps them navigate back to the port at night

With each passing day, marine science has continued to develop with more and more sophisticated GPS systems coming in. They vary from the smallest one known as the hand held models to the larger computer lap top GPS Navigation systems. These systems have been adapted to carry out various functions and thus it is left for the user to choose what he wants to do and a marine navigation system will be available for him to use. You can fine a navigation system adapted for topography in foreign water bodies or use the hand held type for hiking and camping. The auto pilot mechanism can also be used in some large cruisers or yachts to navigate a ship back to port during a dark night.

Recommendation On Buying a Marine GPS: Before making up your mind about getting a marine GPS, you need to be sure about the kind you will be using.simply put you have to be sure about issues like weather it is for adventure or for fishing inorder to determine the kind of GPSyou will require and its function.because if you are insearch of a fish finder, u do not need a GPS that is costly with bells and whistles. The marine GPSsystem with bells and whistles is advantageous to Commercial fishermen as it will help them catch fish and get back to shore easily whereas a normal fisherman will not need all this items.

In general, marine navigations systems cannot be considered as a luxury today but as a necessity for every water navigator. Getting a Marine GPs unit today is very easy and simple as they .are available on all online navigation stores at affordable prices and in diverse varieties. Manufactures have made it easy today as GPS System can be found even on watches and cell phones .There are portable and can be take where ever the user wants to. The major concern here will be for the user to know what he wants to do with his GPS navigation system and he will get just want he want.

Addictive Carp Fishing Baits Secrets And Fishing Facts!

By Tim Richardson

Most anglers who buy baits use them with blind faith because they really do not appreciate what actually happens in the fish that induces them to take a bait into their mouths and in doing so get themselves hooked! Imagine the power of being able to harness this knowledge where applicable. How much do think this advantage over the fish and over other anglers will multiply your catches?

Most anglers use readymade carp baits because they have become conditioned to because of easy availability, but confidence form slick advertising and advertorials etc are most often the bait that hooks such anglers and certainly not first-hand experience. Often the catches on new baits are made by the best, sharpest and most aware anglers using the edge of a new bait, and most anglers over-look this. If you have not used a bait before and not only do not know what it is made with nor how it works in detail, then my friend, you are fishing on blind faith not confidence.

Why would you care of you knew anything more about bait anyway; after all you catch fish right, and you have confidence in your baits? The difference between you running against an Olympic champion and expecting to win is you can try hard as you can with the amount you already have or know, but the Olympic champion has prepared in as many ways as fully as possible for a very long time; and that is why he is the best; talent at the top is not enough! In many ways use of flavours is like a race, where so many are simple taste or flavour carriers and mere attractors, (not feeding triggers) but others are like live rocket fuel by comparison, but you could spend your life missing out by not finding out; because most anglers keep secrets to themselves...

It may be remembered that bait substances get diluted in water and many chemicals occur in air which are not the same compounds when released into water. What if I suggested that it was not necessarily the familiar smell of garlic we humans recognise in air that produces its effects on carp for its success? What about the significance of the fact that when in water, certain pungent garlic compounds given off in air, including that distinctive garlic smell are not produced?

Carp are turned-on by far more than a vanilla or strawberry flavour combination and in fact often these will provide no response at all as they are not true feeding triggers as such, but some bait substances compensate for this by affecting carp in far more profound ways internally! Science is hard right; well I did an easy test on carp baits today by eating wheat-free biscuits and a wheat free doughnut; all done in interests of science and in the best possible taste! Sometimes there are substances used in foods and baits which are naturally there or added deliberately which induce you brain create the sensation of pleasure so you enjoy them more...

On eating the wheat-free foods I did not want to keep eating them and certainly Homer Simpson would have a shock if his doughnuts were wheat-free as there is something internally potent missing in them! Beyond all the flavours, sweeteners, enhancers and other goodies already added to those biscuits and doughnut (I say doughnut as I could only eat one,) something vital was missing. That missing substance that in wheat for example causes the release of feel-good hormones in the wheat-free foods was gone, and I really missed it!

If you ate food frequently that tasted and smelled good but had no further incentive to keep you eating more of it, you will more than likely eat something else in preference if that food does has an extra feel-good brain chemical releasing impact. The bait or food which creates more pleasure is preferential in humans and it is the same in fish! You brain chemicals are directing your actions on a basic level and when it comes to the impact of a key part of wheat, your actions as a result of eating it can very easily be to eat more; more cake, toast, biscuits, doughnuts etc, this is one vital reason people so easily over-eat these foods and create behavioural cyclic eating problems!

When you look, you won't believe how hard it is to get away from wheat in your diet as it is exploited so much in modern foods to get you to eat more and buy more in regular, habitual ways! Even in carp fishing it is recognised that fish eating baits without supplemental nutritional foods can drop weight as with fish addicted to tiger nuts or peanuts alone, so using such things as part of your nutritional bait is a massive edge. You might not call it manipulating carp behaviours in your favour, or call it creating addictive or habit-forming behaviours, but it works in practice; you are your own guinea-pig every day! These edges are supplied to you by the bait secrets ebooks author with more experience of eating healthy biscuits and doughnuts (probably,) than any other author!

Countless modern carp bait companies have taken hinders and Rod Hutchinsons leads for example and formulated their own commercial bird food based baits ranges and now additives and liquids etc based around robin red and chilli for instance are extremely fashionable and successfully proven; such as the Ccmoore Red Venom additive.

Robin Red has been used by most commercial bait companies at some time or another and is so prevalent that in some cases it might be your unique homemade bait perhaps is the only boilie bait that does not contain it on your water! Beware that any successful ingredient, additive or flavour etc, when over-used, can conversely act as a marker for danger and it might be a bonus to use very little of it in your bait sometimes. You might choose to use a component of it instead, perhaps just the red chilli peppers part instead, or add these to boost a proportion of Robin Red perhaps for a winter and spring bait.

Ways to incorporate Robin Red and apply it in homemade baits, spod, method, particles, pellets and boilies mixes are legion. Just dampen your boilies using a mixture of liquid foods and Robin Red... Or try pre-soaking your pellets in any liquids you like and add Robin Red to produce super ground baits, method mixes or spod mixes for example for both winter and summer use.

The ingredients and components in robin Red have been speculated on for decades and a few of these have been identified but apparently no-one has actually copied the original accurately, although most copies will still stain your hands red and turn fish red too! One fact about Robin Red which has been confirmed is that it does not contain the antioxidant pigment Carophyll Red, but what about cantaxanthin perhaps? Whatever Robin Red contains, it sure works!

In making homemade boilies just using an ounce of Robin Red per pound of dry mix will certainly boost the effectiveness of very many base mixes and especially when you use a very cheap mix based on crushed Red Band, semolina and soya flour for instance. While adding Robin Red to dampened pellets and to liquids to make Robin Red dips works why not try the purpose-designed Red Venom from Ccmoore which is highly soluble and clouds the water red; ideal for winter and summer use! One combination from Haiths that is particularly outstanding is their Super Red which is a mix of the following and can be used dry in PVA bags:

Super Red has aniseed oil, teasel seeds, crushed Carpticle mix, crushed hempseed, Red Factor, robin Red, peanut granules and crushed tiger nuts. This combination is only one of countless others you could try in making your own boilies, pellets and ground baits and to maximise this and more and to save yourself an fortune in bait costs why not now read on...

Looking for a relaxing time, Go Boating

By Jonathan Summers

Boating can be a relaxing pastime, floating along on a river or lake without a care. For most people, the boating itself is the whole point of the hobby: once you're in the boat, you're set.

Plenty of people bring their boat to wherever they are going to go boating on a trailer attached to the back of their automobile, provided the boat is of legal size to drive in, seeing as larger boats have to be kept in marinas, which can be expensive. Even today, a lot of people still build their own boats out of nothing over wood, nails and ingenuity.

There's a great range of different boats, from the small to the large. The smallest boats are those designed to be rowed effectively by 2 people, followed by family-sized small boats. Most people who are into boating tend to have been boating with their family, their friends, and the main reason they take their family and friends along is simply because they've had such fun memories in the past, they just want it to be far better.

Once you get above small boats, you start to get into powerboats (also known as speedboats and motorboats). They start off as only too large to row, but can go as large as 50 feet long with cabins and large engines - in other words, you can get powerboats that can be as big as big as a automobile and about as big as a truck.

Yes, boating is very much so enjoyable, however, it is conjointly a hobby in which you need to pay a lot of attention to safety. Lots of boaters die each year, mainly by falling overboard and drowning. It is important that you use common sense as well as making sure to comply with the relevant safety laws, especially by always taking lifejackets with you.

Indeed, boating isn't entirely limited to just cruising around. You can also set up water-skis on the back of your boat and go water-skiing, or even enter boat races, if you think you're swift enough. You can also fish, both in freshwater and in saltwater, with freshwater fishing being 1 of the most popular things to do with a boat.

Carp fishing Baits And Methods For bigger Catches!

By Tim Richardson

How your bait can really make a big difference to your catches in hidden and very obvious ways!

The scientific information available on essential dietary needs of carp most often does not take into account the presence of natural food in the presence of a test food item such as that of milk casein and gelatine. In fact it really makes a big difference when you consider that a carp is fully designed to fully digest and utilise its natural food items as opposed to an artificial food item composed of many foods such as in a boilie bait or pellet designed for salmon, trout or even specifically designed for carp! The actual energy and nutrient requirements compared to the actual biological conversion and energy supplied may well not be as great nor as efficient as thought by anglers.

When most carp anglers think about baits they most frequently think about flavours, protein or other nutritional aspects, but very many miss all the other aspects of bait that induce carp feeding behaviour and curiosity etc, in general. One important variable factor in our fisheries is the changing levels of the abundance of natural food items present which can impact upon catches on baits very much at certain times and we can exploit this to make catches easier with more focus on ground bait and bait design. It can be tough to induce natural feeding carp to eat our baits unless we truly exploit the biochemical systems and other senses which carp use to detect their natural food so effectively.

When I look back to my early carp fishing days of the 1970's I recall using a bucket of ground bait made from bread crumbs, perhaps cans of sweetcorn or luncheon meat or various special pastes, particle baits like wheat, pearl barley, hemp or live baits like worms or maggots. In the last 30 years carp fishing has exploded into a highly commercialised activity, and today introducing many kilograms of boilies, pellets or particle baits among others, all produce fish. Having seen someone catch a forty pound carp from a UK water, just ten minutes after introducing 20 kilograms of soluble pellets into his swim (done under suitable circumstances,) made me appreciate even more how heavy baiting can be truly decisive in many big and wary carp captures!

It is true that the majority of the fish you could fish available to you prior to the boom in carp fishing in the UK were of double and single figures and it has been said that at that time there were as many twenty pound fish in Kent waters as the rest of the waters in the UK put together. New carp anglers in the UK today could never fully appreciate just what an achievement catching a twenty pound carp meant back in the 1970's and early 1980's; and the opportunity to actually fish a water that held a thirty pound fish was incredibly exciting experience! To many carp anglers fishing just a couple of decades ago, the first challenge was actually to locate a water containing any big carp over twenty or thirty pounds at all, and it might seem crazy to consider that to me it was once an exhilarating thrill to fish a water containing fish over twenty pounds, now having hooked a carp over eighty pounds a couple of years ago.

It is funny to think that once upon a time catching twenty individual twenty pound carp in a (UK) carp season fishing from June to March was a very tough goal, even up to 2 decades ago on most UK waters. But I know for certain this can be achieved in under a week on the right UK waters today. Bait know-how does make a great difference to potential results without doubt.

One 1991 milestone catch for me was of 23 carp caught over 5 days from an Essex reservoir, topped by the biggest in the lake (a mid-thirty,) and these fish averaged just under twenty pounds each; this provoked much jealousy from other members at the time, yet today such catches are pretty commonplace. Unique homemade bait design and regular effective bait application was the secret to my milestone catch back then and probably applies even more so today! Bait is often the last consideration today in the age of the instant carp angler who can buy everything except experience, but getting educated on the secrets of bait and how to exploit its power is a very big edge that can make your catches far better than ordinary, (even if you are a carp angler of average talent or experience!)

Bait design is very important and the nature of the free baits you use in order to get fish into an excited feeding state and drawn into your swim, hopefully to make a mistake with your hook bait is crucial; even in exceptionally prolific French and Spanish waters where 60 fish of over twenty pounds has been achieved by my friends in just 3 days. In the UK high-profile anglers are very much promoters of innovative baits and applications and the leverage of various bait substances and forms of recipes is a very big part of their ongoing success. Bait is important not merely as an edge in itself but as the whole basis of your ongoing success and so belittling the subject is rather missing the point that carp senses can be manipulated in our favour over and over again big-time...
